Falling from the 27th Floor, Hong Kong BMI Dies

bmi falls deadDDHK News, Hong Kong - An Indonesian Migrant Worker (BMI) in Hong Kong died Thursday morning (23/1) after falling while cleaning windows on the 27th floor of her employer's flat in Wong Tai Sin.

As reported by the site South China Morning Post, The 28-year-old BMI fell from the kitchen window at Cheung Yuen House, Chuk Yuen North estate, at around 09.30am. He fell to the first floor of the building.

The police said that the BMI died at the scene. "Her employer, an 87 year old grandmother, told the police that the maid fell while cleaning the windows in the kitchen," said the police.

The ill-fated BMI just arrived and worked in Hong Kong earlier this month.

This is not the first occurrence. Last August, a 32-year-old BMI and an 18-month-old baby she was caring for fell from the 19th floor in Yau Tong, while picking up clotheslines outside the window while carrying a baby. He lost his balance and fell with the baby he was caring for.
