As in Hong Kong, the results of the Isbat session held by the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) also decided that Eid al-Adha or 10 Zulhijah 1443 Hijriah falls on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

The decision was taken based on the results of the Isbat trial to determine the beginning of the month of Dzulhijah 1443 H which was led directly by the Deputy Minister of Religion, Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi, Wednesday (29/4/2022). The isbat trial resulted in a decision that the new moon was not observed in a number of monitoring areas.

"By consensus, 1 Dzulhijah falls on Friday July 1 2022," said Zainut Tauhid reading the decision of the Isbat trial at the Ministry of Religion, as reported by CNN Indonesia.

In the previous team's presentation, Member of the Ministry of Religion's Hijri Calendar Unification Team, Thomas Djamaluddin, explained that the position of the new hilal at the beginning of the month of Zulhijah 1443 was generally less than 3 degrees and its elongation was less than 6,4 degrees. The condition of the new moon like this is considered not to meet the criteria for the entry of the month of Zulhijah. "By using the MABIMS criteria, the regions of Indonesia and Southeast Asia have not met the criteria. The moon's height is still less than 3 degrees. And from the elongation data, the elongation is only about 5 degrees less," said Thomas during the hilal position seminar. [DDHKNews]
