Helping Drought Communities, DDHK Distributes Clean Water in Grobogan and Blora

Recently, a number of regions in Indonesia have experienced drought and water scarcity. To help the community, Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) distributed clean water to 230 families in 2 districts in Central Java (Central Java), namely Grobogan and Blora.

This assistance is an implementation of the Water for Life program that DDHK has been raising since early September 2023. Donations were obtained from alms from Indonesian citizens, including Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Hong Kong and Macau.

"In general, Dompet Dhuafa In drought-stricken areas, they have moved to distribute clean water. We are distributing funds raised from DDHK to the Central Java region. "All funds received through DDHK have been channeled through DD Jateng," said DDHK General Manager, M. Imam Baihaqi.

In Blora, clean water distribution is carried out in Jegur Hamlet and Klokah Etan Hamlet. Meanwhile in Grobogan, clean water distribution was carried out in Gadingan Hamlet and Diren Hamlet. The distribution of clean water was carried out on 18-19 October 2023.

Gerobogan and Blora are two districts that are quite badly affected by the El Nino phenomenon in Central Java. The drought that never ended for 2 months only occurred this year, accompanied by extreme hot weather. In previous years, there had never been a drought as severe and long as this in these 8 districts.

"We would like to thank the Friends of Kindness in Hong Kong and Macau for the clean water donations given. "This action really helps our brothers and sisters who really need it in Indonesia," said Imam Baihaqi.
