Is it permissible to make up prayers due to busy work?

Peace, mercy and blessings of God

Ustadz, I want to ask a question.

What is the ruling if someone deliberately makes up the Zuhur prayer and does it after the Asr prayer, even though there is still a few minutes left? This was done because he was still doing the work from his employer at home. Please enlighten.

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings be upon you

It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari and Muslim, from Abdullah bin Mas'ud radhiallahu 'anhu, that he asked the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam: "Which deed is most beloved to Allah?" The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied by saying:

اللاة لى ا

"Pray on time."

Ibn Mas'ud asked again: "Then what?" He repeated it twice, and the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam replied in the order: "Devoted to parents, then jihad fi sabilillah."

In the Qur'an it is stated:

افِظُوْا لَى الصَّلَوٰتِ الصَّلٰوةِ الْوُسْطٰى ا لِلّٰهِ

Keep all prayers (fardu) and Wusā prayers. Stand for Allah (in prayer) solemnly. (Al-Baqarah [2]:238)

Therefore, try as much as possible to pray on time. Need time management and open communication with employers. This is an opportunity for our da'wah to convey that we have an obligation to God, and not to take too much time between other times. Do lots of prayer, remembrance, istighfar while we do other activities.

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
