August, City of Manchester in England Holds Halal Food Festival

A large-scale halal festival will be held in the city of Manchester, England. This event will feature more than 150 halal food vendors.

The biggest Halal Food Festival will take place at Manchester's Bowlers Exhibition Centre. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes on August 19 and 20. Following the success of the exhibition in Birmingham last year, the indoor festival is expected to attract more than 20 visitors at Trafford.

Activities held over the holiday will feature a number of stalls, featuring Halal food from around the world and local favorites such as Ritas Reign. Reported on the Manchester Evening News, Wednesday (26/7/2023), as quoted by Republika, the main arena of activities will focus on various Halal lifestyle brands.

Celebrity chef Pulwasha, Mia Dia from The Islam Channel, and KanD Man from BBC Asian Network will be cooking live for the audience at the event. Not only that, an 'Artisan Market' will be held by 'Muslim Instashop Expo'. It will showcase delicacies, home décor, arts and crafts, and fashion and beauty.

This marketplace previously served as a great platform for small businesses, startups or those selling Instagram, at the Birmingham Monthly Muslim Market. “Hosting The Halal Food Festival is like a dream come true, bringing friends and family together to socialize, eat and celebrate the Halal lifestyle,” said organizer and festival director of The Halal Food Festival 2023, Bilal Khan.

The organizers encourage all levels of society to join in this activity. The goal is to learn more about the integration of Muslims and halal into the UK.

Khan said this activity was also a great opportunity for Muslim entrepreneurs to fight for halal business. The hope is that this can take them from small businesses to leading companies in their respective fields.

This Halal Festival will be open from 11.00 to 19.00 local time every day. Visitors can buy tickets available on the Halal Food Festival website, with prices starting at £7 or the equivalent of IDR 135.
