INDIA - The Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the violence in New Delhi, India, which has killed at least 34 people. The riots there were triggered by demonstrations against the Citizenship Amandement Act (CAA), which were considered anti-Muslim.
"The OIC condemns the recent violence and worries Muslims in India, resulting in the death and injury of innocent people, arson and destruction of mosques and property belonging to Muslims," the OIC said via its official Twitter account, Thursday (27/2), as reported. Republika.
The OIC expressed its condolences to the victims as a result of this heinous act. "The OIC calls on the Indian authorities to bring the instigators and perpetrators of this anti-Muslim act to justice and ensure the safety and security of all Muslim citizens and the protection of Islamic holy sites across the country," the OIC said.
When the rioting took place, the houses of the Muslim residents who had been left were targeted for looting. The building is a target of mass attack.
Erdogan: Muslims Slaughtered in India
Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, strongly condemned the deadly violence in New Delhi in recent times. “India has become a country where massacres are widespread. Hindus slaughtered Muslims, ”Erdogan said in a statement quoted in Ahvalnews, Friday (28/2), as reported by Republika.
The New Delhi government denies accusations of turning a blind eye to Hindu mobs who attack Muslims and Muslim-owned property, including mosques.
