DMC Dompet Dhuafa Assisting in Fuel Distribution to Flood-Affected Hospitals in Pulo Mas

JAKARTA | INDONESIA - Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa assisting the distribution of fuel supplies for generators at the Kartika Pulo Mas Hospital, East Jakarta, Tuesday (25/2/2020) afternoon. The assistance distributed was in the form of 200 liters of diesel fuel, 20 liters of pertalite fuel, 2 rolls of cable, and one generator unit with a capacity of 2.300 watts. This was conveyed by Sanadi, Field Coordinator of the DMC Response Team Dompet Dhuafa for the Jakarta Flood.


"I got information from the doctor at Kartika Pulo Mas Hospital, that the hospital started experiencing flooding since 04.30 WIB. Therefore, the first floor electricity was turned off. Earlier we helped meet the hospital's generator fuel supply for the second and third floors, "said Sanadi.

Dr. Ihsan, one of the doctors on duty at Kartika Pulo Mas Hospital, confirmed this. He said electricity is needed for the second floor which is now referred to as an inpatient room, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and for the refrigerator for storing medicines. He added that now there are 33 patients who are still undergoing inpatient treatment at the hospital and are in dire need of electricity.

While distributing fuel, the team also helped evacuate residents and several employees who were around the hospital area. One of them is Suniarti (50 years), who brought food supplies to her parents who were trapped in a flood in Pulo Mas Utara II housing.
