Tawassul in language is to make or seek wash it (intermediary). Meanwhile, according to the term, tawassul is asking Allah through an intermediary in the form of things that can bring him closer to Him and will be granted hair and it hurts

Suggestions for tawassul are listed in Al-Quran that is:

ا لَّذِینَ امَنُوا۟ ا۟ للَّهَ ا۟ لَیۡهِ لۡوَسِیلَةَ ا۟ لِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمۡ لِحُونَ المائدة: }

"O you who believe, fear Allah and seek wasilah (way) to draw near to Him, and strive (struggle) in His way so that you may be successful." {Surat al-Maidah: 35}

Tawassul Law

The law of tawassul with the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam in his lifetime with himself or by asking for prayer from him, this is allowed and not disputed by scholars.

However, tawassul with the Prophet himself or after he died, this is a dispute over his permissibility. However, the majority of scholars from the Malikiyah, Shafi'iyah, contemporary Hanafi, and some Hanabilah circles allow it.

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, as quoted by al-Maruzi, once said, if you have a certain desire then ask Allah and strengthen it by relying on the glory of the Prophet. He said: "Surely Allah will accept it."

Even Ibn Quddamah also allowed it.

Imam Nawawi said: "He (the Prophet) can be used as wasilah & used as an excuse to ask for intercession."

However, a person who is devoted must believe that the Prophet is not the goal in praying, but only as a wasilah towards Allah, that is to say with his glory, or with the love of someone who prays to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam.

Among the prayers accompanied by tawassul are as follows:

اَللَّهُمَّ لُكَ …

"O Allah, I beseech You with Your Prophet Muhammad, ...

or

اَللَّهُمَّ لُكَ …

"O Allah, I ask You by the right of Your Prophet Muhammad, ...

or

اَللَّهُمَّ لُكَ اهِ …

"O Allah, I ask You in the position of Your Prophet Muhammad, ...

Then mention his intentions….

Wallãhu a'lam

Hope it is useful…

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
