DDHK News, Indonesia - As a network Dompet Dhuafa (DD) which is engaged in education in terms of strategic human resource development, Scholarship Indonesia Dompet Dhuafa re-open the Ethos Scholarship registration.
Selection will be made by opening 2 waves with different targets. The first batch of registration, 10 January to 28 March 2014, is for high school graduates. The second batch of applications for students opened in July 2014.
"The first batch that will be selected will be SMA / equivalent graduates from underprivileged families and will enter PTN via the SMPTN, SBMPTN and UM Regular Pathways and accepted in PTN and recommended majors. The second batch that will be selected are new students receiving Bidik Misi recipients in 2014, "explained Budiyanto, Director of Beastudi Indonesia DD, Thursday (6/2).
Budiyanto said that in 2014 the Etos Scholarship targeted 257 students (etoser) to become potential beneficiaries. Last year the selection stage only captured 130 ethosers.
"We hope that the increasing quota this year can provide wider access to the public to get quality education at well-known campuses in Indonesia," he explained.
Budiyanto revealed that this year's Ethos Scholarship will collaborate with 15 State Universities (PTN) throughout Indonesia, such as the University of Indonesia (UI), Gajah Mada University (UGM), Hasanuddin University, and other PTNs.
"We are still working with 15 state universities throughout Indonesia, and also recommending majors to prospective participants," he explained.
Budi said that apart from receiving scholarships, the etosers will later receive pocket money, research support, support for foreign achievements. Ethosers will also be given intensive coaching, boarding programs, and encouraged to empower communities in their respective areas through the Productive Village program.
"After participating in the Ethos Scholarship program, it is hoped that the etosers will have a greater impact on society and the improvement of the nation in the future," he hoped.
Beastudi Etos is an HR investment program that focuses on coaching, mentoring and empowering to form HR with character for superior and empowered Indonesia. Before becoming a network Dompet Dhuafa, Scholarship Indonesia is a department in the Human Development Institute Dompet Dhuafa under the name of the youth and community department.
The rapid development of the program encourages Dompet Dhuafa enlarge the institutional department. On February 1, 2012, the youth and community departments were officially enlarged into a networking institution Dompet Dhuafa under the coordination of the education division under the name Scholarship Indonesia.
