Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang Launches Dai School

school-dai dompet dhuafaDDHK News, Indonesia - Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang (DD Singgalang) West Sumatra launched the Dai School program as a follow-up to the dai training held in April 2013 and January 2014.

"Dai's training is insidential, while School Dai is continuous," said Imam Masharoni, the School Coordinator for Dai.

The Dai School is designed for 10 meetings which take place from 8 am to 4 pm on Thursdays each week. A total of 23 people, consisting of students and the general public, participated.

In recruiting these dai candidates, DD Singgalang required not being actively involved in political parties and having a pretty good Islamic insight.

The position of dai plays an important role in society. At present, many preachers who are less competent use the dhaif (weak) hadiths when preaching. With the existence of this Dai School, it is hoped that quality preachers will emerge from West Sumatra.

The dai school has a fiqh curriculum of da'wah, tafsin, tahsin, ghazul fikri (war of thought), discussing khilafiyah cases, and others. Imam said that the competencies of the dai that were produced would be tailored to the needs of the community, such as disaster preachers, journalists and entrepreneurs.

Dai school invited speakers from Islamic universities. Imam explained, it is possible if the presenters are brought from public universities provided that the presenters have good Islamic insight.

The leader of DD Singgalang, Musfi Yendra, appreciated the dai candidates who had invested their time to become community educators. Likewise with the speaker who was deliberately invited to the preacher's school. "I am grateful and hope that all parties can work together to achieve our goals," he explained. (Dompetdhuafa.org). *
