Domestic Workers Are Not Allowed To Accept Partial Jobs

ASKING: Can Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) as foreign domestic workers (PRT) in Hong Kong accept odd jobs with the employer's consent?

ANSWER: Not allowed, even with the approval or orders of the employer. According to the Immigration Regulations, Friends of Migrants may not work with an employer other than those specified in the work visa. If you do so, you will be prosecuted and expelled from Hong Kong for violating residence permit regulations. If expelled because of this, Friend Migrants will not be allowed to return to Hong Kong to work as domestic workers.

Then, what should Friends of Migrants do if an employer asks to work with other people or do work that is not domestic work? Friends of Migrants must report this to the Hong Kong Immigration Department, Investigations. [DDHKNews]
