HKSAR 25th anniversary July 1st, special arrangements for traffic between Causeway Bay-Central

DDHK.ORG - Hong Kong's Department of Transport (TD) reminded the public that special traffic and transportation arrangements will be implemented around Wan Chai North until July 1. The arrangement is related to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and a flag-raising ceremony in Wan Chai North.

Related to that, there will be road closures that will be implemented around Wan Chai North. This includes the temporary closure of the bus terminals at Exhibition Center Station Public Transport Interchange and Expo Drive East, on that date.

In total, 23 bus routes stopping at Wan Chai North and 30 passing bus routes will be diverted or cut accordingly. Also, the Exhibition Center train station of the East Rail Line will be temporarily closed on June 30 and July 1.

TD anticipates traffic jams that may occur in the affected area and surrounding main roads. Namely, Gloucester Road, Hennessy Road, Marsh Road, Victoria Park Road, Tonnochy Road, Fleming Road, Canal Road flyover, Harcourt Road, Connaught Road Central, Cross-Harbour Tunnel and Aberdeen Tunnel.

The public is advised to plan their journey in advance and use alternative travel routes to avoid unforeseen delays. For people who use public buses to the Wan Chai area, it is advisable to pay attention to the arrangements for diverting or cutting routes and changing the location of the bus stop.

Traffic and other public transport measures, including adjusting the level of road closures, traffic diversions and changes and suspensions of public transport services can be carried out by the Police in a short period of time depending on the prevailing traffic conditions. Taxis and public buses going to Wan Chai liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) Station on Marsh Road for refueling are advised to pay attention to road closures and the latest regulations implemented in the area.

For details on special traffic and transportation arrangements, the public can monitor them on the site TD website or the “HKeMobility” mobile app. [Source: https://www.info.gov.hk] [DDHKNews]
