Indonesia Will Appear at The Hong Kong Flower Shower 2023

DDHK. ORG – Indonesia will certainly appear in the series of The Hong Kong Flower Shower 2023. This Indonesian cultural performance will take place on Sunday, 19 March 2023 at 11.30-13.00 HKT on the main stage of Victoria Park.

The Hong Kong Flower Show 2023 (HKFS) has been taking place from 10-19 March 2023 at Victoria Park with the theme "Bliss in Bloom" featuring hydrangea flowers as the floral theme.

For the Hong Kong Flower Show 2023 event, previously, various preparations were made by the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong. One of them is the preparation for the performance of Indonesian arts and culture on the main stage.

A total of 27 groups have registered to take part in the auditions which will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

The entire group gave their best performance to be judged by a panel of judges who are activists of Indonesian dance and arts and culture. As a result, 11 performances representing Indonesian culture were obtained, namely Angklung, Reog Ponorogo, Jaipong Dance, Gantar Dance, Wira Pertiwi Dance, Gandrung Dance, Sihutur Sanggul Dance, Plate Dance, Jaranan traditional, Rangda dance, and Pencak Silat.

They will appear on the main stage on Sunday, 19 March 2023 at Victoria Park. Don't forget to watch it.

The Hong Kong Flower Show is an annual exhibition organized by the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). Usually held every March at Victoria Park.

From 1968 to 1986, the City Council held its Annual City Council Flower Show at City Hall, while the County Council held the North District Flower Show.

In May 1986, the City Council and Regional Council decided to hold a joint annual flower exhibition, and in 1987, the first Hong Kong Flower Fair was held in Sha Tin Central Park.

After that, a flower show was organized jointly by the City Council and County Council, alternating locations of Victoria Park and Sha Tin Central Park. In 2000, the Hong Kong government decided to change the venue to the newly established LCSD and its location was assigned to Victoria Park. [DDHK News]
