World Hijab Day February 1st, Even Christians Feel Comfortable Wearing the Hijab

World-Hijab-Day-Support-Muslims-RightsDDHK News, United States - To clear up a misconception about the headscarf, an American Muslim female teenager, Nazma Khan, organized a program “World Hijab Day” (World Hijab Day) every February 1.

He hopes that this year's world hijab day will be followed by a million participants. "We are anticipating more than 1 million attendees," Nazma Khan told OnIslam.net about the event's second anniversary. "So far there are 116 countries participating," he added.

February 1, one million Muslim women and non-Muslim women are expected to wear headscarves and march (peaceful rallies) through the streets of 116 countries, to mark the second anniversary of World Hijab Day.

World Hijab Day was first proposed by Khan to encourage non-Muslim women to wear the headscarf and experience it. This is so that they understand the hijab correctly, as well as fight the controversy surrounding the hijab.

Nazma wants women one day Muslim women to be free to wear the hijab, without experiencing any discrimination or prejudice.

Last year, Khan's suggestion immediately received worldwide support. The group's literature is translated into more than 40 languages.

Kathryn Van Gompel, a Christian woman from Arizona, is one of thousands of people who have tried to wear the hijab. Wearing the hijab for a few months, Gompel even thought she would continue to wear it.

“I haven't received any negative feedback so far. I am (a believer) Christian and have been wearing the hijab for about 6 months, ”she said. “I (even) have received a lot of compliments. If people ask why, I just tell the record that I want to be simpler ”.

"I also pointed out the fact that Christians, Jews, and other religions have worn it for hundreds of years, and there is nothing wrong with covering yourself up," added Gomple. (mel / onislam.net / localhost / project / personal / ddhongkong.org / ddhongkong.org). *
