Tips for Diligently Reading the Qur'an and Solemnly Praying

ASKING:

Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

Ustadz, how can I regularly read the Koran? Because, when you are tired, then go to sleep. Then, if prayers are always in a hurry, they cannot focus.

I ask for tips, Ustadz.

Thank you, Ustadz.

Salam,

Sri Wahyuni, Tai Po.

ANSWER:

Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Bismillah ... Worship is the activity most favored by Allah SWT and it is the purpose for which humans were created, including jinn. Allah SWT said:

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِیَعۡبُدُونِ

{سورة الذاريات: ٥٦}

"And I did not create jinn and humans but so that they worship Me". {Surah Adz-Dzãriyãt: 56}

Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Worship is something that includes anything that can bring the love and pleasure of Allah SWT, whether in the form of words, practices, or others".

Among the most important worship is prayer, because it is the second pillar of Islam, the pillar of religion, and the first worship that will be judged on the Day of Judgment. Rasulullah saw said:

"Indeed, the first practice of a servant who is judged on the Day of Resurrection is prayer. If (prayer) is good, then he will be lucky and safe. But if (his prayer) is broken, then he will be hurt and lose money. If (the obligatory prayer) there is something deficient, then Allah 'azza wajalla said: See if my servant has the practice of praying the sunnah so that he can complete the shortcomings of his obligatory prayers, so that all his practices depend on according to his prayer ”. (HR Tirmidhi)

Reading the Koran is also the most important form of worship. Rasulullah saw:

أَفْضَلُ عِبَادَةِ أُمَّتِي قِرَاءَةُ الْقُرْآنِ. (رواه البيهقي)

"The main worship of my people is reading the Koran." (HR Baihaqi)

Reading 1 letter from the Qur'an will be rewarded with 1 kindness, where 1 good will be multiplied to 10. The Qur'an will also be an intercessor for its readers while in the world.

Then, what if someone works so busy that they spend a lot of time so that even praying is rushed and it is very difficult to find time to read the Qur'an?

Working for a living is a form of worship because it includes trying to support a family and is a type of jihad in the way of Allah. However, we must have good time management in this life. Do not let the act of worship be partial or partial by neglecting other worship.

Ibnul Qoyyim said: "The best worship is worship which is done according to individual conditions".

What he meant by saying was, for example, when we heard the call to prayer, the best worship was to answer and pray in congregation. If we have guests, then the best worship is to glorify them, not even read the Koran and ignore the guests. If we have a beggar, the best worship is to give alms to him. And of course there are many others. So that we position ourselves according to the right moment. Unless we are in a free position and we can use it with any kind of worship according to our wishes, such as reading the Koran, dhikr, or others.

My suggestions are:

  1. Asking Allah to be given strength and istiqomah in worship, especially praying and reading the Koran.
  2. Approach well with superiors or employers in order to allow time for worship.
  3. Take time to read the Koran even if only a little each day. Don't let us not read it in one day. Because people who take the time and keep themselves busy with the Koran, Allah will answer their wishes even if they don't chant the prayer.
  4. Convince ourselves that prayer and patience are the best of our helpers to Allah.
  5. If we still feel that our Fardlu prayer is less than perfect, complete it with sunnah prayers at other times or with other acts of worship as much as we can.

May Allah facilitate our steps to obey Him. Ãmîn…

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Regards!
