Throughout 2021, DDHK Collects Donations of Nearly HK$2 Million

DDHK.ORG - In the year 2021, Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) managed to raise a donation of HK$1,817,770 or almost HK$2 million. This figure is an increase compared to the previous year's collection, 2020, which was HK$1,514,054.

This figure was known after DDHK reported a set of donations of HK$107,831 throughout December 2021. "The following is a financial report and DDHK activities for December 2021. Friends, please report to the public," said General Manager of DDHK, M. Imam Baihaqi, when publishing the report, Thursday (13/1/2022).

Based on the report, DDHK received zakat payment funds of HK$6,946. For infaq, DDHK received a donation of HK$66,905. DDHK also recorded a waqf fund income of HK$6,546. This month, DDHK received a sizable humanitarian donation of HK$27,416.

"We thank the donors. Hopefully, this donation that is donated in the way of Allah SWT will be rewarded with hundreds of times of goodness as promised, "said Imam Baihaqi.

The amount of donations that DDHK has managed to collect from Indonesian citizens in Hong Kong and Macau is because DDHK makes it easy to donate through several channels. Namely:

  1. Donation boxes placed at the BNI Remittance offices in Causeway Bay, Tsuen Wan, Hung Hom, and Yuen Long branches;
  2. Donation box at BRI Remittance office Causeway Bay branch;
  3. A donation box at the Dapur Kita restaurant in Causeway Bay;
  4. Donation box at Amanda's Store, Causeway Bay;
  5. Pick up donations by calling 6464 2555;
  6. HKD Account Transfer with FPS ID: 166006742 (Dompet Dhuafa Association Limited);
  7. Rupiah Account Transfer through Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) with number 500 5050 608, an Dompet Dhuafa Republica;
  8. Alms via SMS Telin by typing ZAKAT, INFAK, or WAKAF and sent to 333;

Disaster and Social Assistance

In December 2021, DDHK disbursed funds for several social activities. Among them, financial assistance to Jember, Banyumas, Ponorogo, Lampung, Blitar, and Banyuwangi. All of this assistance was provided through the da'wah partner taklim assembly, program participants, and the DDHK Volunteer Team.

Assistance is also given to Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong who are in need, such as financial assistance to purchase plane tickets back to Indonesia. In terms of social activities, DDHK also makes visits to hospitals.

This month, DDHK also provided shelter services to 6 Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong who needed temporary housing due to various factors. DDHK also visited 4 Indonesian citizens who are serving time in a Hong Kong prison.

Media and Da'wah Sector

In the field of media and news, DDHK continues to publish news and information about the Islamic world, institutional activities, as well as the latest information from Indonesia, Hong Kong and Macau. A total of 40 news and articles were published through the website ddhk.org. While on social media, DDHK made 176 posts on Facebook page Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, 57 posts on Instagram, and 125 videos on Youtube channel DDHK News.

Through the da'wah program, DDHK provided 12 online consultations, 28 online religious tausiyah sessions, and organized 31 Quran study classes, both for adults and children. "These activities were attended by 1,204 people, consisting of various groups. Namely, expatriates, Indonesian migrant workers, expatriate mothers and children, ”said Imam Baihaqi.

DDHK also provides online tausiyah via WhatsApp messages and Facebook posts. This tausiyah message is given every day.
