In order to overcome and minimize the number of problems faced by Indonesian Migrant Workers in Hong Kong (BMI HK) in 2012, the Migrant Advocacy Service Institute team Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (LPAM DDHK) held an Advocacy Talk Show for BMI HK at Tenda Putih Bawah, Victoria Park, Sunday, January 8, 2012.
The outreach program with resource persons Sumiati alias Mia from the Indonesian Migrant Community (KOMI) and Adzimattinur Siregar SH (alumni of the University of Indonesia Jakarta) will start at 14.00 to 16.00 and will be open to the public.
According to the General Manager Interim DDHK, Ustadz Boy Mareta, the aim of the event was to educate BMI HK about the problems faced and provide correct information about rights and laws in Hong Kong.
"With this counseling, it is hoped that HK BMI friends can understand and recognize their rights, and they will know how to overcome the problems they face. We will also invite representatives of BMI HK organizations, ”he explained.
