How to Change the Fasting of Ramadan That You Have Left in the Past?

QUESTION:

Assalamualaikum, Ustadz.

I want to ask about fasting. In the past, when I came to the beginning, I couldn't participate in fasting Ramadan. Then in the next Ramdhan you can fast but secretly (without being noticed by your employer). Alhamdulillah, now I can fast and pray.

What I want to ask, is the calculation to replace fasting during Ramadan, but I don't know for sure how many times I didn't fast (I didn't know that fasting debt must be replaced)? And, what about the previous Ramadan-Ramadan which also never fasted? In essence, before I did not know fasting debt must be replaced by fasting (unless sick or other udzur).

Ustadz please provide an explanation.

Salam,

Fulanah

ANSWER:

Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

The scholars agree that the debt of fasting must be diqodlo 'according to the number of numbers for those who are udzur in syar'i, such as illness, menstruation, postpartum, safar, and so on. If you forget how many days of fasting you have left, you still have to think about and make sure how many you believe. Because the obligation to pay fasting debt is still required to apply.

Another practice besides fasting qodlo is that the person must immediately repent to Allah for the mistakes and omissions he has ever committed. Allah is most gracious of His mercy.

Hope it works!

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Regards!
