Again, a mosque in Canada was attacked

A mosque in Quebec Canada was again the target of attacks by anti-Islamic vandalism, just hours after vandalism at another mosque. Hicham Ouhaid, president of the Aylmer Mosque, said before the attack took place he received an email urging Muslims to leave Canada.

The message, he said, included a Time magazine cover photo of 2010 depicting a young Afghan woman whose nose and ears were cut off.

This is not the first time the Aylmer Mosque, located on the corner of Park Street and Chemin Eardley, has been the target of attacks. He added that anti-Islamic notes were found in the mailbox last spring.

"We are very concerned. We feel that our people (Muslims) are being targeted by attacks, ”said Ouhaid.

The attack on the mosque drew criticism from various parties, including Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney. Gatineau Police are investigating the vandalism case at the Islamic Center Outaouais as a hate crime. (Mel / cbc.ca / ddhongkong.org). *
