There are Lontong and Opor Ayam at Eid Celebration in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Even though they are far from their hometown, Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Hong Kong are enthusiastic about carrying out Eid prayers. The event was held simultaneously on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 09.00:15 a.m. until finished. There are more than XNUMX spots that are used to facilitate Eid prayer for PMI, including in the Tai Wo Hau park.

One of the Dai Ambassadors Dompet DhuafaUstadz Sukron Makmun, who was asked to become a priest and preacher at the Tai Wo Hau park said that mothers, young and old, were all very enthusiastic in celebrating Eid. "Although on average they are only given permission for three hours not to come to work," said Ustadz Sukron.

They use this relatively short time for prayer and halal bihalal with fellow Indonesians who live around Tai Wo Hau. The majlis taklim that took part consisted of two majlis taklim around Tai Wo Hau. Namely, the al-Hidayah Kwai Fong taklim assembly and the al-Karimah Taklim assembly. The Eid prayer was attended by around 350 worshipers.

In his sermon, Ustadz Sukron said that Muslims are often unable to practice the essence of Allahu Akbar's words which are always uttered during prayers. "We often say Allahu Akbar, but in practice we often glorify those who are not big (creatures) and belittle the Great (al-Khaliq)," he said.

Ustadz Sukron also reminded Muslims to be careful in chanting takbir, especially when it comes to the sentence "mukhlishina lahu ad-din even though kariha al-Kafirun". “Do not add to the unusual word 'munafiqun'. Even if you add to it, it is enough to add 'musyrikun', it becomes 'even though kariha al-musyrikun', because those two words are mentioned in the Koran, "he said again.

After the series of Eid prayers is over, hundreds of worshipers continue their suave and eating events. They have brought food from their respective homes. There is rice cake with Madiun-style lodeh vegetables, there is also chicken opor and other typical village menus in Indonesia. Although the lontong is not wrapped in banana leaves, it does not diminish PMI's enthusiasm and joy. [DDHKNews Team]
