HONG KONG - On Wednesday, June 5 2019, more than a hundred thousand Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Hong Kong celebrated Eid al-Fitr with great fanfare and joy. However, some of our friends and relatives in overseas countries cannot celebrate Eid this year, because they have to lie down in various hospitals in the Land of Concrete.

Volunteer team Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) took the time to visit some of them, to entertain, strengthen, and share with them. "Last June 5, we visited the hospital, visited friends who were being treated," said Nur Aini, one of the volunteers of DDHK.

One of them, visited Maria Septi Novitasari, who had to be treated at Kwong Wah Hospital, Yau Ma Tei, because of her tongue cancer. PMI from Metro, Lampung, has been treated since May 8, 2019.

On the same day, the DDHK volunteer team also visited Nurcahyati who was being treated at Ruttonjee Hospital, Wan Chai. PMI, who had to undergo surgery due to an enlarged thyroid gland in his throat, aka goiter, had to be willing to miss the Eid celebration and stay in the hospital, June 3-6 2019.

"On Thursday (6/6/2019) yesterday, around 12:30, we picked up and took her home to her employer in Quarry Bay. Today (7/6/2019) he went to the DDHK office to thank the General Manager (Imam Baihaqi), ”said Iffah, one of the DDHK volunteers.

Previously, on the night of the takbiran, the DDHK volunteer team also took the time to visit Linda, who had previously been treated at Pok Oi Hospital, Yuen Long, and Queen Mary Hospital, Pok Fu Lam, due to kidney disease. "On June 4, 2019, the night before Eid (takbiran), we took the time to meet him at Sha Tin, where he was staying, to convey the mandate from DDHK," said Nur Aini.

"Actually, he has to undergo four medical examinations here. However, only once checked, his visa expired on June 6, 2019. Yesterday, June 5, 2019, Linda went to Hong Kong airport to return to Indonesia, accompanied by friends, "said Nur. [AR]
