Proposed to increase the salary of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong to IDR 8 million

DDHK News, Hong Kong - The salary for Hong Kong BMIs in charge of caring for the elderly is proposed to be increased to IDR 8 million per month. The Indonesian government made the proposal during a meeting with the Minister of Manpower and Welfare of Hong Kong, Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, in Hong Kong, Friday (24/1) evening local time.

The head of the National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI), Jumhur Hidayat, submitted the suggestion. Currently he is still in Hong Kong to discuss the TKI issue with the relevant ministries in Hong Kong.

Jumhur asked the local government to increase the salary to 6 Hong Kong dollars or around Rp 8 million.
