Greater Killeen Mosque America Holds Open House to Introduce Islam

At-Takwa Islamic Community Mosque of Greater Killeen, Texas, United States, held an "open house" on Saturday (21/1) to establish friendship with the surrounding community as well as to introduce Islam. The Muslim community invited the surrounding community to come to the mosque, which for the first time held this open house at 5600 S. Fort Hood St.

The event themed "Meet Your Muslim Neighbors" (Meet Your Muslim Neighbors) will introduce the public to the basics of Islam and answer questions. "Our goal is to provide opportunities for people to hear Islamic messages," said Mustafa Salaam, President of the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen.

“People formulate their own opinion about Muslims and some people have the wrong opinion. We want to dispel myths and open up open communication with our neighbors. "

Salaam said the free and open event would feature discussions about Islam with Skeikh Islam Massoud, the imam at the North Austin Islamic Center. Visitors are welcome to ask questions about Islam, Muslims and their culture.

Naieem Chowdhury, a member of the mosque management, said several important activities were already taking place at the mosque. He teaches prayer, fasting, donations / alms, and reading the Quran for two hours after school every weekday for 43 children. This mosque also holds Friday prayers.
