Malaysian Muslims Pray for the Safety of Malaysia Airlines Passengers

malaysia airlinesDDHK News, Malaysia - The Muslim religious authority in the eastern part of the Malaysian state, Terengganu, has called for special prayers for the safety of the passengers and crew of the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) jetliner.

"This is what we can do, with this prayer to all mosques in the state in seeking the safety of all passengers and crew and in the hope of finding the plane," said Mohd Saleh Rozali, commissioner of the Terengganu Islamic Religion Department (JHEAT) to Bernama, Sunday (9/3).

Saleh added that JHEAT advised all mosques in the state to pray for the safety of passengers and flight crew who went missing on the Kuala Lumpur-Beijing flight.

Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers, including two infants and 12 crew, went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing about an hour after taking off from KL International Airport at 00:41 am Saturday (8/3).

The head of the Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, said the hijacking effort could not be ruled out.

A large-scale search at sea involving a number of countries has not succeeded in tracking down the plane's whereabouts.

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370 on last Saturday, March 8 2014, invited a lot of speculation. Malaysian authorities have called this incident a "mystery of the unexpected disappearance of the plane". (mel / onislam.net / localhost / project / personal / ddhongkong.org / ddhongkong.org). *
