Ustadz, I want to ask a question.
Is it true, the direction of our stay can determine the good or bad of our household in the future? For example, it is not good for the eldest child to marry a girl whose house is ngidul ngetan (south-east).

Bismillah... My sister who is blessed by Allah, the most important thing in this life is a clean and straight faith. Among the forms of our faith is to fully believe that good and bad all come from Allah. In matters of mate, we must leave it to Allah and of course with the right endeavor.
Circulating in some of our society that the eldest child is not good to marry a potential partner whose house faces east or south. Or there are also those who think that the eldest son is very good if he marries the youngest daughter, and so on.
Of course all of these assumptions are not true if they are only related to mere human predictions and assumptions. Because it was as if that person had already determined his fate line. After all, it is God who determines the fate of mankind. This is prohibited in Islam because it is a form of thiyarah (predicting bad luck).
Whereas thiyarah is a type of shirk to Allah Subhanahu wata'ala.
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
الطيرة ا ا لا لكن الله التوكل (رواه )
"Thiyarah is shirk, not between us but Allah will eliminate it (thiyarah) with tawakkal". (HR Ahmad)
True trust in Allah, God willing, will eliminate doubt, confusion, sadness. Difficulties will be kept away and of course the best mate will be brought closer without having to determine the direction of his house.
