Official, Mahmud Abdussalam Leads POSMIH Again

DDHK.ORG - Ustadz Mahmud Abdussalam, on October 31, 2021, was re-elected by acclamation to be the captain of the Union of Muslim Organizations Indonesia (POSMIH). On Sunday, November 14, 2021, Ustadz Mahmud and 21 people who sat on the POSMIH management for the solemn period of 2021–2023 were inaugurated by the Da'wah Executive Islamic Union of Hong Kong, Ustadz Abdul Muhaemin Karim, as POSMIH advisor, in the hall of the Ammar Mosque and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Center, Wan Chai.

The inauguration ceremony of the POSMIH management was witnessed by more than 100 people who were representatives of dozens of Indonesian migrant worker taklim assemblies in Hong Kong who were members of the organization. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Indonesian Consul General, Ricky Suhendar, and the General Manager Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, Ustadz M. Imam Baihaqi.

In his remarks, Ustadz Mahmud explained that he faced many obstacles in leading POSMIH in the previous period, the 2019-2021 solemn period. Starting from volumes of demonstrations carried out by Hong Kong residents to the Corona pandemic.

All these obstacles, said Ustadz Mahmud, limit the movement and activities of POSMIH he leads. "But thank God, now little by little we can gather again," he said.

Meanwhile, Ustadz Imam Baihaqi in his speech emphasized the importance of good organization in doing good. For otherwise good will always be conquered by organized evil.

"Therefore, it's true that we are here to form groups, create organizations, create taklim assemblies. So, we will become stronger," said Ustadz Imam.

The General Manager of DDHk, Ustadz M. Imam Baihaqi, was also present at the inauguration of the new POSMIH management at the Ammar Mosque, Wan Chai, and gave a speech.

By organizing, he said, we can think together, plan together, thus making our activities stronger. "We exchange ideas. If someone is weak, we strengthen each other, so that the good that we do in Hong Kong, the da'wah that we do in Hong Kong will be maximized, compared to if we do it ourselves," he said.

"We need to work together with one another. Both between organizations and us, the private sector, and the government, in this case the Consulate General. We need to coordinate and cooperate with one another,” said Ustadz Imam.

Keep Indonesia's Unity in Hong Kong

The message to keep Indonesia's unity in Hong Kong, especially for all Muslim organizations and communities in Hong Kong, was one of the messages from Consul General Ricky Suhendar in his speech. The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia congratulated on the election of the new POSMIH 2021/2022 management. “The Consul General also advised that POSMIH's contribution in uniting all Indonesian Muslim organizations and communities in Hong Kong should be maintained and improved. Communication and cooperation with all stakeholders also need to be optimized, in order to maintain friendship between each other and in particular to increase the faith capacity of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Hong Kong," he said.
