In 2011 the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong handled 1.022 Divorce Files for Indonesian Migrant Workers

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Hong Kong (KJRI HK) succeeded in handling 1.274 cases of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI / BMI) in Hong Kong and Macau. This was said by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia HK, Teguh Wardoyo, in his welcome at the KJRI thanksgiving and evaluation at Ramayana Hall, KJRI HK Building, Causeway Bay, Sunday (29/1).

He stated that the services and protection provided by the Indonesian Consulate General in HK included the return of problematic migrant workers totaling 57 people, returning 27 bodies and being buried with honor in their respective hometowns.

"Throughout 2011, the Consulate General in HK alsoBlacklists naughty agency as many as 20 agencies and blacklisted by service users or employers as many as 120 people. In addition, the Indonesian Consulate General also handled 66 cases of fraud and theft of fellow female workers, financed the birth process of 1 person, produced 11 birth certificates, handled 16 couples' marriage files, then handled 1.022 divorce files, ”he explained.

Teguh Wardoyo appealed to HK BMIs to stay focused and to be aware of crimes that could occur around them.

In an effort to protect Indonesian citizens, the Indonesian Consulate General also asked each organization to communicate the cases of BMIs they handle so that the KJRI HK can help solve them.

"For workers who have problems, please come and report the problem to the Indonesian Consulate on the condition that they fill in the registration form first," he said.
