Hong Kong Central Library The Largest Library in HK

The Hong Kong Central Library (HKCL) is the largest library in Hong Kong which is no longer popular among HK BMIs. Its location is very strategic, precisely in front of Victoria Park. Lots of BMI HK spend their free time in this library and enjoy the facilities provided free of charge.

The building is 12 floors, the entrance is curved at the front elevation. HKCL is the gateway to knowledge, while the graphics in the form of triangles, squares and circles symbolize different meanings. Circles in terms of standing sky, squares for land, triangles for ledge accumulation.

This Hong Kong Central Library not only provides a wide range of facilities, but also comprehensive reference and information services to a full extent. Other main facilities are filling the terminal, information service book kiosk and multimedia information system.

HKCL is a smart building with a built in network floor system to provide telecommunications and further and expansion. HKCL has been designated as a storage library in Hong Kong with 9 international labor organizations, international maritime organizations, United Nations, Scientific and Cultural organizations, Kata Bank, trade organizations on the Fuod Kata program.

As reading tables, all provided with power points and dataline outlets, readers can use their portable computers to search for available information with library systems and the internet. Readers can also access various multimedia databases on CD-ROMs and the internet via LAN and ATM workstations.

Everyone who comes to HKCL will love the beautiful, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms, very friendly staff and excellent service. Every floor there is a toilet which is very clean.

To get a member card (library card) is quite easy, by filling in the form provided and showing your HK ID. We can register and can borrow books.
