Friday, No New Cases of COVID-19 in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - The Health Protection Center (CHP) announced that until 4 pm Friday (24/4/2020) there were no new confirmed cases of COVID-19. With that said, the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong remains at 1.035.

This is the second day in a week that Hong Kong has not added any new Covid-19 cases. Previously, on Monday (20/4/2020), Negeri Beton also recorded zero new cases of the corona virus.

Even so, the CHP urges the public to continue to practice the policy of "maintaining social distancing" or social distancing from other people as far as possible in everyday life. This is to minimize the risk of infection.

"Citizens must also continue to reduce their out-of-home activities and avoid social activities such as eating out or other gatherings to minimize the risk of corona virus clusters emerging in the community," wrote the website of the Government of Hong Kong's mussel, news.gov.hk.

Given that the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak remains severe and the number of cases reported worldwide continues to increase, Hong Kong residents are urged to avoid non-essential travel outside Hong Kong. "As well as maintaining strict personal and environmental hygiene at all times," the government appealed.

The Hospital Authority reported that as of Friday there were still 331 patients under isolation. Meanwhile, 725 patients were discharged after undergoing the recovery and healing process. [DDHKNews / source: news.gov.hk]
