Dutch media: SBY canceled his visit because of Wilders

The Dutch media reported that the real reason for the cancellation of President SBY's state visit to Balanda was the factor of Geert Wilders, a Dutch anti-Islamic politician.

Christian daily Dutch newspaper (09/10) citing parties directly involved in the decision to cancel the visit. According to anonymous sources, the quick trial for the RMS demands that SBY be arrested was only a channel of anger. The real reason is Geert Wilders.

Wilders is an anti-Islam politician and leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV). This party was involved in formulating the policy of the new Dutch government.

The ND newspaper also wrote that SBY wanted to postpone his visit since the leader of the right populist party PVV had an important political role in the Netherlands. The intention to visit further subsided after Wilders said "Indonesian guests must guard their mouths" (een toontje lager moesten gaan zingen). This is a comment on the interview of Ambassador Habibie who criticized Wilders in the newspaper Financiele Dagblad.

All these factors then culminate in summary proceedings RMS. The President of Indonesia finally decided to cancel the state visit.

Wilders himself reacted via twitter. “Whatever Yudhoyono's reasons for not going to the Netherlands, I don't care. He banned me in Indonesia first, "Twitter Wilders was quoted as saying Nederland radio.

The Dutch Foreign Ministry did not want to react to the article Dutch newspaper because the daily uses anonymous sources.

It is not clear whether the source is a source in Indonesia or in the Netherlands.

Geert Wilders, in a talkshow on Dutch television in May 2010, had firmly rejected the entry of Indonesian citizens to live in the Netherlands. This rejection is related to the party's PVV program which is indeed anti-immigrants from Islamic countries.

For Wilders, every country whose population is more than 50 percent Muslim is an Islamic country. And according to this man of Indo descent, anyone from an Islamic country, regardless of religion, cannot enter the Netherlands. Thus, according to Wilders, also applies to Indonesia.
