While Enduring Pain Ranny Leave Hong Kong

TSUEN WAN | HONG KONG - Ranny Mahesa, Indonesian migrant worker (PMI) from Surabaya, East Java, finally decided to return to Indonesia after suffering for five months due to intestinal infection. Three volunteers from the Bina Rohani Patient Team Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), Sunday (10/3/2019), also took Ranny to the airport, from his lodging in Tsuen Wan.

Ranny returned home after undergoing treatment at the Prince of Wales hospital, City One, Shatin, for a month, since 8 February. When he returned home, he had not fully recovered from his illness. Ranny, who returned alone unaccompanied, was finally assisted by Hong Kong airport officials using a wheelchair to the plane he was going to be in.

Previously, Ranny had complained about the pain he experienced while still working at his employer. However, for four months she was only given medication by her employer, without ever being taken to a doctor, let alone a hospital for treatment.

The pain itself, he admits, is the result of eating irregularly and rarely eating rice. "I just eat fried food more often," said Ranny to a DDDHK volunteer.

"At first, it hurt. I was sick for four months, "he said.

At that time, he also decided to terminate the work contract (break) to find a new employer. Due to his unbearable illness, Ranny took the initiative to see a doctor who then required him to undergo surgery. Because, according to the doctor's diagnosis, he was suffering from an acute infection in his appendix.

"When I was hospitalized I signed a work contract with my new employer and was waiting for a visa," said Ranny.

However, Ranny had to bury his dream of continuing to work in Hong Kong. While enduring the pain, he was forced to leave the Land of Beton, alone, and return to his hometown. [Sumarline]
