Mukaab, the Skyscraper to be Built by Saudi Arabia

DDHK. ORG – Mukaab will become a skyscraper built in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced the launch of New Murabba Development Co.

This will change the center Riyad City through a unique development. The project will also include an iconic museum, a university, a multi-purpose immersive theatre, and more than 80 entertainment and cultural venues.

Reported Republika, the New Murabba project will be built around a sustainable concept featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths. It aims to improve the quality of life by promoting healthy lifestyles and community activities.

As quoted by Arab News, Monday (20/20/2023), the development will be located at the crossroads of King Salman and King Khalid to the northwest of Riyadh over an area of ​​19 square km and will accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents.

New Murabba will offer more than 25 million square km of floor space, 104 thousand residential units, 9.000 hotel rooms, 980 thousand square meters of retail space, 1,4 million square meters of office space, 620 thousand square meters of recreational assets and 1,8 million square meters of community facilities.

The project will provide a walking area and have its own internal transportation system with a 20-minute drive from the airport.

The area is planned to host Mukaab, an icon featuring the latest innovative technologies and will be one of the largest building structures in the world at 400 meters high, 400 meters wide and 400 meters long to take a cubic shape to ensure the highest utilization of space.

Inspired by modern Najdi architectural styles, Mukaab will be the first immersive destination in the world to offer experiences created by digital and virtual technologies with the latest holographics.

The building will include a tower and structure featuring two million square meters of floor space that will be a premium hospitality destination with multiple retail, cultural and tourist venues, along with residential and hotel units, commercial space, and leisure facilities.

This project is part of the Public Investment Fund's strategy to unlock promising sector capabilities. This enables the private sector and enhances local content, contributes to the development of local property and infrastructure projects, and diversifies sources of income for the Saudi economy.

It is estimated that it will add around 50 billion dollars (Rp 757,7 trillion) to the non-oil economy and create 334 thousand direct and indirect jobs by 2030. The project will be completed in 2030. [DDHK News]
