DDHK News, Indonesia - Dompet Dhuafa rolling out the Selodingin Livestock Kampoeng Program in Selodingin Hamlet, Siwalan Village, Panceng District, Gresik Regency, East Java. This farmer empowerment program is a collaboration Dompet Dhuafa with Gresik Assist Foundation (GMF), PT. Gresik Migas.
About 138 goats of the Jawa Randu type were handed over to 35 heads of families in Selodingin Hamlet during the program launch on Sunday (27/4).
The program launch was attended by the Deputy Regent of Gresik Muhammad Kosim, Director of PT. Migas Gresik Buchori, and Director of Communications and External Relations Dompet Dhuafa Nana Mintarti, symbolically handed over a teacher training program for 25 teachers from 10 schools and a technician training program handphone to 25 mosque youth.
"The purpose of this program is to improve the welfare of poor people in the Selodingin area, Gresik with a livestock program," said the Branch Head. Dompet Dhuafa East Java Zein.
The output of the program, added Zein, is that the breeder partners have productive assets in the form of Javanese Randu goats which are managed from upstream to downstream so that they can have a double effect on other sectors.
The establishment of a local institution in the form of a Breeder cooperative that can facilitate the target breeder community in accessing capital, product marketing, and increasing farmer capacity is another program output.
At the level of its activities, the Kampoeng Ternak Selodingin program will strengthen the capacity of farmer partners through training, comparative studies, and independent hands-on practice.
