Death toll from mosque shooting in New Zealand reaches 50 people

HONG KONG - CNN Indonesia, Sunday (17/3/2019), reported that the number of victims who died in the shooting at two mosques in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, increased to 50 people. This figure was obtained from a statement submitted by the police, as reported by Reuters.

"I say the death toll has now increased to 50. Last night we managed to bring all the victims from the scene," said New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush, Sunday (17/3).

Like the death toll, the number of injured in the incident which occurred when local Muslims were about to carry out Friday prayers at the Linwood Mosque and Al Noor Mosque was also 50 people.

Among the 100 victims, there were three Indonesians. One of them, Lilik Abdul Hamid, died. Meanwhile, two other people, namely Zulfirmansyah and his son, have to undergo intensive care at Christchurch Hospital. Zulfirmansyah is said to be in critical condition and underwent two surgeries.
