Special Ramadan for Kids in UAE

DDHK. ORG – This Ramadan is special for the children in United Arab Emirates (UAE). This year's Ramadan is eagerly awaited by school children as it coincides with spring break across the country.

Gulf News on Wednesday (8/3/2023) said that students will be able to spend most of Ramadan at home. Holy month is expected to start on March 23 and spring break will officially start on Monday, March 27, 2023. So, Friday, March 24, 2023 will be the last day of class for the current semester.

Reporting from Republic, school children will only attend school for a day or two in Ramadan before starting spring break.

Spring break will run from March 27 to April 14 and schools will reopen on April 17. Private schools following the international curriculum will remain closed during spring break from March 27 to April 7 and classes will start on April 10 after the weekend.

Ramadan will last for 29 or 30 days, depending on the appearance of the month of Shawwal. Hence, Eid is expected to be observed on Thursday, April 20 or Friday, April 21.

This means that kids will have a three or four day weekend at the end of their first week back to school for the following semester. Here is a brief about what schools in the UAE are like this Ramadan.

Ramadan will likely start on Thursday, March 23.

Children will attend school for two days on March 23 and 24, before the weekend begins.

Spring break will start on Monday, March 27th.

Spring break will end on Thursday (April 13) for public curriculum schools.

International curriculum schools will reopen on April 10.

Eid al-Fitr is predicted to fall on Thursday, April 20 or Friday, April 21. [DDHK News]
