Sangiang Eretus, DMC Dompet Dhuafa Lower the SAR Team

Mount_SangiangDDHK News, NTB Indonesia - After the eruption of Mount Sangiang in Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa lowered the Search and Rescue (SAR) team, Saturday (31/5). Dispatching a team to deal with the impact of disasters such as meeting emergency needs, distributing masks, and helping clean up volcanic ash.

According to the DMC SAR Supervisor Dompet Dhuafa, Achmad Riyadi, sending the SAR Team because of the experience in handling refugees in Sinabung and Kelud. The SAR team that went to NTB brought 44.000 masks to be distributed. "We hope that there will be maximum emergency handling of the impact of the eruption," he said.

Sanging Volcano erupted on Friday (30/5) at 15.55 WITA. The eruption height reached up to 3.000 meters to the west. Most of the volcanic ash fell into the sea.

The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) raised the status from Waspada (level II) to Alert (level III) starting Monday (2/6) at 16.00 WITA. (Dompetdhuafa.org)
