DDHK News –Disaster recovery team Dompet Dhuafa Monday morning (11/01) departed from Teluk Bayur Port, West Sumatra. The team consisted of five people, who were representatives from DMC, LPI, DD Singgalang, and one volunteer photographer from Bali.

In Mentawai, the team will organize several recovery programs, namely: Trauma healing with the Cheerful Story method for elementary school students, Cheerful School Training for elementary school teachers, the Mother Tangguh program, and monitoring of the construction of Temporary Shelters (HUNTARA) in the Pasapuat area, and following the Muntai area. and Pagai.

Currently, disaster management activities in Indonesia are driven by the Disaster Management Center Dompet Dhuafa, has entered the recovery phase. In addition to the recovery of the tsunami earthquake in Mentawai, Dompet Dhuafa also managing flash flood recovery activities in Wasior, Papua, and recovery of Merapi eruptions in Central Java, although for the Merapi eruption, the DMC team still had to guard emergencies caused by cold lava floods.

In general, the initial recovery activities of Dompet Dhuafa in disaster areas are aimed at normalizing the living conditions of the community. Dompet Dhuafa target every family able to think calmly in redesigning their life.

Therefore, the first and foremost choice of this recovery phase is to complete as quickly and as many community dwellings as possible, both in the format of Temporary Houses and Growing Houses. In line with these objectives, January 19, 2011, Dompet Dhuafa schedule the inauguration of Temporary Shelters in Wasior, Papua.

Several important recovery programs will be implemented soon, namely: provision of clean water sources, construction of badly damaged religious and educational facilities, revitalization of community plantation and agricultural lands, and basic surveys for programs that revive community economic activities.

Expansion of the STF Program

Social Trust Fund (STF) Program Dompet Dhuafa which is a form of social value economic financing to restore community business activities in disaster areas continues to roll.

After implementing the STF program in the Tasikmalaya and Pariaman Padang areas, the DD Program Directorate will then roll out the Wasior STF program, in Teluk Wondama Regency, West Irian.

This program is a form of corporate care cooperation to disaster victims, namely from the funds of the Telkomsel Taklim Council and PT. Trakindo. The STF program team will depart and be at the Wasior location from 13-20 January 2011, to facilitate site preparation and recruitment of program implementing human resources, of course also involving and coordinating with the DMC Team in location orientation and implementation.
