Sucipto (73), who works as a television repairman daily, admitted that during the Corona pandemic, his income decreased drastically. It has been two weeks that no one has used his services, which ultimately has a direct impact on economic income.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you very much for the program" They are not willing to be hungry ". At least, it can help the family's food needs. Because since Corona, income has dropped dramatically. There is also not much service, "said Sucipto.

The same thing was also conveyed by Muryati, the owner of "Warteg Berkah" whose income from her place of business has also decreased due to the Corona pandemic. He thanked donors Dompet Dhuafa with the program. Now his efforts are being helped, as well as a blessing for the beneficiary family.

“Wow, since the Corona outbreak existed, it's really very quiet to eat here. In the early days, a lot of merchandise didn't run out. Alhamdulillah, this Dompet Dhuafa come to help the community, also my shop, "said Muryati.

Assistance of 1.000 Food Packages

In addition to the 'Not Willingly They Hungry' program, in an effort to block (prevent and deter) corona, LPM Dompet Dhuafa also launched the program “Assistance for 1.000 Food Packages. Assistance is distributed to groups vulnerable to the Corona virus (Covid-19). They include day traders, odd jobs, widows, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups.

Not only helping those who are less fortunate, this program also empowers the residents around the places where the food aid recipients live. Of the 15 types of basic food items included in the aid package, most of them were obtained from nearby stalls that were also affected by the corona.

"Not only helping vulnerable groups affected by the corona, we are also trying to empower small shops that are quiet because of the corona," said Ahmad Fitrah, coordinator of the program "Assistance of 1.000 Food Packages".

One of the stalls that got a splash of fortune from the food donation is Beni, who started his grocery shop in 2014. The presence of the corona outbreak is a difficult time for his shop.

He admitted, since the covid virus pandemic came, the shop was not as busy as it used to be. Usually, the shop is always busy until late at night. Now, the shop is quiet and customers come at certain times.

"Yes, since there (covid-19), the decline in customers must have been experienced. My shop used to be busy until the night, now it's not as busy as it used to be, ”said Beni.

By empowering small-scale economic actors, Beni feels that this is the right step. The stall, which is affected, can be helped to stay alive during this outbreak.

"That was very helpful. In supermarkets it is definitely safe, many people buy. But if it's a small shop like us, it's definitely affected. Alhamdulillah, Dompet Dhuafa cares about small business players like us, "he said. [DDHKNews / source: Dompet Dhuafa]
