April 9 Corona Outbreak Update: Additional Cases and Deaths Record the Highest Figures in a Day

INDONESIA - The number of positive patients infected with the corona virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia jumped significantly on Thursday (9/4/2020). Likewise, the recorded death toll related to the corona virus.

There were an additional 337 cases on Thursday, making it the day with the highest number of cases added since it was first announced, last March 2. "The data update to date has added 337 cases, bringing it to 3.293 cases," said the government spokesman for the handling of Covid-19, Achmad Yurianto, in his press statement at the BNPB Jakarta Building, Thursday (9/4/2020).

In addition to a drastic surge in positive patients, the corona virus has spread to all 33 provinces in Indonesia. Thus, only one province has no positive patient for the corona virus.

DKI Jakarta is the province with the highest number of positive cases, followed by West Java, East Java and Banten.

Highest Death Rate in a Day

The number of positive patients infected with the corona virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia who died reached 280 people per Thursday (9/4/2020) from a total of 3.293 positive corona patients. Achmad Yurianto said that the number of positive Covid-19 patients who died today has increased by 40 from the previous 240 people. "There are 40 cases of patients who died from positive confirmation of Covid-19, so a total of 280 people," said Yurianto.

Since the government announced positive cases of the coronavirus on March 2, the death toll on Thursday was the highest increase in a day. Of the total 280 patients per day who died, the largest number came from DKI Jakarta with 142 people. In a row, West Java with 40 patients, Central Java with 22 patients, Banten with 20 patients, East Java with 17 patients, South Sulawesi with 8 patients, and DIY 7 patients.

Then North Sumatra 4 patients, Bali 2 patients, Central Sulawesi 2 patients, West Kalimantan 2 patients, South Kalimantan 2 patients, South Sumatra 2 patients, Papua 2 patients.
