ANSWER: There is no definite information about whether or not you can sing the call to prayer, so you cannot simply be punished with heresy. Bid'ah in general is making up, adding or subtracting, the rituals of worship - especially the main worship or mahdhah worship: prayer, zakat, fasting, and pilgrimage - which the Prophet Muhammad has exemplified.
What is clear, when the time for prayer arrives, there must be a call to prayer to remind and call the Muslims to pray immediately.
"When the time for prayer has come, let one of you say the call to prayer for you and let the oldest person among you become the priest." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).
The majority of scholars agree that the call to prayer may (mubah) be sung, as long as it still adheres to the principles of recitation, does not excessively lengthen it to resemble chanting, and as long as it does not change the meaning of the call to prayer.
Sayyid Sabiq (a 'scholar of fiqh) said: "Singing (adhan) to change, add, or subtract letters, vowels, or madthen it is makruh. And if it changes the meaning then it is haram. "
