Former DDHK Volunteer Opens a Reading House

Former volunteer Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) and one of the Iqro DDHK Magazine Team, Kurnengsih Rusdiyana alias Ratu Bilqis, inaugurated a library called "Bilqis Reading House" in Subang, West Java, Thursday, January 26, 2012.

With a collection of around 200 titles, Ratu Biqis collaborates with the Miftahu Hidayah Islamic Boarding School. "Currently, it turns out that the number of enthusiasts exceeds the number of books available so that the bookshelves are almost empty every day," he said.

Therefore, he is now trying to increase the number of his book collection by submitting proposals and assistance to various institutions and individuals or hunting himself to cheap shops.

The motivation that made Queen Bilqis build a reading house was her childhood experience, where it was difficult to find free reading books in the village.

He hopes that the reading needs of children in his hometown are met so that they will gain more knowledge outside of school. (Mel / Rumah Baca Bilqis / ddhongkong.org). *
