Dubai Ready to Establish a World Halal Institution

DDHK News, Dubai - Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), is ready to inaugurate an accreditation center for halal food (halal food). The city is preparing to establish an institution that can guarantee the halalness of circulating products as part of Dubai's plan to become the world's Islamic economic center.

Dubai City Director General, Hussain Nasser Lootah, announced that his party had appointed a team to establish the halal center. The plan is for this halal accreditation agency to be led by a man who previously served as Assistant Director General of Dubai City's health, safety and environmental monitoring sector, namely Salem bin Mesmar.

According to Hussain, this halal institution is planned to be able to carry out its duties. For example, conducting a series of tests and exams required on every food product and other products, to ensure that all these products are free from the addition of chemicals or artificial which are not in accordance with Islamic law.

"Our dream is to make this halal institution become the first international reference in the halal food industry worldwide," he was quoted as saying republica.co.id from Arabian Business  (9 / 1).

The man who was nominated to head this institution, Salem, said that the steps taken by Dubai could increase business activities in Dubai. "Because this context is the most sought after both at the local and global levels," he said.

According to him, the purpose of establishing this halal institution is to increase the trade value of products that have pocketed the halal certificate itself.

If it is clear that it is halal, then this product can target the Muslim consumer segment. "Dubai can serve the needs of people around the world, as a halal center that is authorized to issue halal certificates on food and provide similar accreditation to other products, such as medicines, skin products, cosmetics and other products," he explained.

Dubai is building agile. Seeing the promising growth of the sharia economy, the face of this city will change to become the center of the world Islamic economy. The establishment of this halal accreditation institution is one of the facilities prepared.

Reuters released that the economic value of sharia is increasing. Its current value is no less than 2 trillion US dollars, and continues to show an increase of 20 to 25 percent every year.

Globally, the Muslim population reaches around 1,6 billion people. This number is growing rapidly.

This very significant development of Muslims makes the need for halal products a huge opportunity. For this reason, the establishment of a halal institution like this is very important, so that it can guarantee that all products used by Muslims are in accordance with Islamic law, aka halal.

Previously, last September a halal institution from Europe also set up a branch in Dubai. Dubai is ogled because of its role in the future which will grow into the center of business and the world's Islamic economy. *
