Postponing Nadzar's Implementation Because Paying Debt Putting First, How is the Ruling?
Delaying Nadzar's Implementation because of Prioritizing Paying Debt
Question
Assalamu'alaikum, Ustadz.
I am a PMI Hong Kong. I want to ask, Ustadz.
Last month I had a vow, if my employer paid my holiday money which was four months ago, I would use it for the construction of a mosque in my village of Rp. 500 thousand. But after the money came out, I paid debts here and there and the money ran out before I could practice my nadzar.
This made me feel very guilty towards God. What should I do now, Ustadz? Can I pay in the following month after I get paid?
Thank you Ustadz, may Allah protect Ustadz and his family, be given healthy favors and good fortune. Aamiin Ya Rabbal 'aalamaiin.
Salam,
Fulanah
Answer
Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Nadzar is compulsory. If not, then you must pay kafarat Nadzar. Nadzar's mother can be paid next month, it's better not to delay it anymore.
Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.
Regards!
