DD Volunteer-KFP Holds Charity Concert Caring for Sinabung & Kelud

dd charity concert volunteerDDHK News, Indonesia -  Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) together with the Educational Philanthropy Community (KFP) held the SATU ASA Charity Concert (One Million Stationery for Indonesian Children), Sunday (16/3), at the Student Center (SC) Hall of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

The SATU ASA Charity Concert itself aims to be a space for community contributions to assist the education of children in Indonesia, especially those who are victims of disasters.

"SATU ASA exists as a movement that cares about the calamities that are befalling this country, such as Sinabung, Kelud and so on. Hopefully, this movement can increase people's awareness of helping each other, "explained Rini Suprihartanti, Director of Relief and Empowerment. Dompet Dhuafa, when giving a speech.

Chusnul Fikri, Chief Executive of the SATU ASA Charity Concert, said that this charity concert was the closing activity of road show SATU ASA movement that has been carried out for a month since February 15, in raising funds. The donation that has been collected is IDR 25.363.000. This donation figure could still increase until 20 March.

"God willing, this donation figure can still increase, until next March 20, because after that we will start rolling out this assistance," explained Fikri.

Furthermore, he said, the donations that have been collected will later be rolled out in form school kits, such as pencils, pens, notebooks, and bags. This assistance will be focused on disaster victims in Sinabung, North Sumatra and Kelud, East Java.

"We will focus on Sinabung and Kelud, but we will look for areas that have not been touched by the local government, we will roll them to schools most severely affected by the disaster," he explained.

The event was enlivened by several entertainment performances, such as Stand up Comedy with Iwel Wel and Asep, percussion music entertainment by the Philanthropy Community, and acoustic music entertainment by Adjie Dygta and Dapur Seni UIN Jakarta.

On this occasion, Adjie Dygta expressed his appreciation for the SATU ASA movement which raised donations for people who were victims of the disaster. According to him, all forms of goodness, efforts and efforts that are all done for good must be fully supported.
