Wuhan, Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong threat closes

HONG KONG - The Hong Kong Radio Television (RTHK) public broadcasting service agency reported that the management of Ocean Park and Disneyland, Sunday (26/1/2020), said that the two tourist attractions in Hong Kong were temporarily closed. Basically, because the government raised the emergency alert level related to the Wuhan virus outbreak.

Through its official website, Ocean Park said it would remain closed until further notice. Those who have already purchased tickets can exchange them or get a refund.

Disneyland also delivers a similar notice via its website. The amusement park was closed as a precaution. However, Disneyland hotels remain open and operating as normal.

The day before, Saturday (25/1/2020), along with the Chinese New Year, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, announced the government warning to be raised to the highest level. Namely, standby or emergency alert, related to the spread of the Corona virus which is thought to have originated from Wuhan, Central China.

As is well known, the Corona virus, which is similar to Sars, has created chaos on the mainland with more than 50 people killed and nearly 2.000 confirmed infections. Hong Kong has reported five cases of the virus so far and all of them arrived via fast train lines from mainland China. [DDHKNews]
