The meaning of Husnuzhon

We often hear the terms husnuzhon and su'uzhon. Etymologically (language), husnuzhon comes from Arabic. This term consists of two words; husnu (good) and zhon (prejudice).

Zhon according to the Arabic dictionary al-Mu'jam al-Washit is when a person strengthens his perception, thought, or prejudice against something. Thus, some linguists present the zhon as having at least 70 percent power of the opposite perception.

Thus, husnuzhon to Allah is if a person reinforces his good prejudice rather than his bad prejudice, even overcomes him. So that for true believers, there is not the slightest bit of prejudice against Allah SWT. Whatever has become the decree of Allah, he will accept it with pleasure and sincerely without complaint.

In contrast to syakk or royb (doubt). This term means that the percentage of yes and no has the same power or we can call it fifty-fifty (50 to 50).
