HONG KONG - Several damaged Hong Kong MTR rail facilities are still under repair. The damage was caused by acts of vandalism that occurred when mass actions led to the riots that have hit Hong Kong in recent months.
“Train services on all MTR Lines (except Airport Express), Light Rail, and MTR Bus will end at 10:00 PM today. Starting from 3:00 p.m., the Airport Express train will run between Airport stations and Hong Kong only, "said an official announcement issued by the Hong Kong MTR manager, Sunday (13/10/2019) morning.
All Light Rail routes will operate today. “However, due to vandalism at several stops, it took us longer to repair the damaged facilities. The Light Rail service has also been adjusted, ”wrote the MTR manager.
These service settings, namely:
- The 705 and 706 Light Rail routes will be combined.
- Light Rail Routes 705, 706, and 751 will divert in the Tin Shui Wai area; Route 751 will not stop at Yau Oi Bus Stop.
- The 610 Light Rail route will run at 15 minute intervals.
The Light Rail does not stop at Yau Oi, Tin Wing, Ginza, Tin Wu, Tin Tsz and Tin Shui Wai stops. "Thank you for your patience," wrote the Hong Kong MTR manager. [DDHKNews]
