Israel Funds US Anti-Muslim Hate Spread Group

DDHK.ORG - According to documents obtained by the Jewish-US magazine Forward, through a request for the Freedom of Information Act, it was revealed that the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs had sent US $ 40 (approx.RM589,2) to a Christian Zionist organization based in Tennessee. The organization is on the watch list of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLT) and is considered to be in the category of hate-spreading groups.

Reported by Middle East Monitor, Friday (4/9/2020), the SPLT is a US non-profit legal advocacy organization that specializes in human rights and public interest litigation. The organization has compiled a list of anti-Muslim groups in the country.

On the list, many of them are staunch supporters of the state of Israel. “These groups often trade conspiracy theories involving the infiltration of the government by Islamic extremists. (They) warn that the US legal system is being overthrown by Sharia law and generally portray Muslims as a potential terrorist threat, "the SPLT said.

The American Christian Zionist group and the Proclamation of Justice for Nations (PJTN) group are among the 40 or so anti-Muslim groups. Forward Magazine reports that the grant to PJTN is part of a broader push by the ministry to support pro-Israel groups fighting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in the US.

The Israeli government's approval of funding for PJTN highlighted the relationship between pro-Israel groups and the increasing anti-Muslim hatred globally over the past two decades.

This effort is often described as an "Islamophobic industry". The number of groups that spread hatred against Muslims and Islam has also increased exponentially since the terror attack on the World Trade Organization (WTO) Building in New York on September 11, 2001.

A paper by Hilary Aked in 2015 concluded that there is an "undeniable overlap" between right-wing Zionism and Islamophobia.

The paper seeks to identify the sources of growing resentment against Muslims, and finds Israeli-related funding from Islamophobic industrial donors to be a contributing factor. (source: CNN Indonesia) [DDHK. ORG]
