DDHK News, Hong Kong - Hong Kong's Health Minister, Ko Wing-man, announced Wednesday morning (31/12), the Cheung Sha Wan market will be closed for 21 days and imports will be suspended during the same period.

Authorities in Hong Kong have started culling 15.000 chickens at a poultry market and halting imports from mainland China after bird flu was found in chicks.

Hong Kong's Health Minister, Ko Wing-man, announced Wednesday morning (31/12), the Cheung Sha Wan market will be closed for 21 days and imports will be suspended during the same period.

Minister Ko Wing-man said the H7 strain of flu was found in chickens at a market supplied by a farm in mainland China's Guangdong province. Ko gave no further details.
