English Football Club Stadium Provides a Place for Congregational Maghrib Prayers for Spectators

DDHK.ORG - One of England's famous football clubs, Blackburn Rovers, continues to show an extraordinary attitude of tolerance that is encouraging for Muslims. The club that once won the English premier league, Premier League, provided a place for congregational Maghrib prayers for spectators at Ewood Park Stadium in the first round of the English League Cup against Hartlepool, Wednesday (10/8/2022) local time.

The kick-off of the match begins at 19.45 local time. Blackburn will hold the Maghrib prayer together at 20.55:20.55 local time. “For the Muslim fans who came to our home game against Hartlepool, we understand you will need time for the Maghrib prayer at XNUMX. Please ask the officer to direct you to the room we have provided [for prayer]," Blackburn's management wrote on their Twitter account.

Not only the place, Blackburn also prepared the priest. The club appointed one of the Muslim supporters who holds tickets to the annual Blackburn match, Hafiz Zayd, as the imam of the congregational Maghrib prayer. Blackburn will also provide an extra place to pray if the space provided is not enough.

“One season ticket holder, Hafiz Zayd will lead the worship at 20.55:XNUMX. Our function room at Blackburn End is not just for [worship] for the time being. You can also move into the room at the Jack Walker Stand for Maghrib prayers during the second half," Blackburn wrote.

For the Championship division club, the Muslim community in the city of Blackburn is an important part of the existence of Blackburn Rovers in the football world of Queen Elizabeth. Therefore they want to accommodate the needs of supporters who are Muslim by providing a place of worship. “All adult Muslims must pray five times a day. Especially for Muslim supporters, we understand that and provide for their worship needs. We are proud to have this on any agenda at Ewood Park," Blackburn wrote.

This is not the first time Blackburn's management has shown tolerance for Muslims. They previously also held Eid prayers last May inside the stadium. Last July, they also held Eid prayers at the same stadium. [Source: CNN Indonesia][DDHKNews]
